Dog Show! Well, the 2012 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, to be exact. Yesterday the 136th annual Westminster festivities kicked off in New York City with judging in the Hound (including the basset hound, bloodhound, and the adorably named otterhound), Toy (poodles! pugs! pomeranians! the very luxurious Cavalier King Charles spaniel pictured to your right!), Non-Sporting (bulldogs, though somehow, not this one) and Herding (like collies, German shepherds) breeds.
Today’s judging, which airs on USA from 8-11 p.m. EST, will include Sporting, Working, and Terrier breeds and varieties, all leading up to the announcement of Best in Show. (In the meantime, you can watch a live feed of the show on the WKC’s website, sadly none of which includes the dazzling commentary of Buck Laughlin.)
Check out some photos of the dogs that participated in yesterday’s events at Westminster
